Hillary is a recent arrival to Aiken, South Carolina and the Blue Poppy Farm team. Her experience in Huntseat, Dressage, Jumping, Western, Gymkhana, Driving, and Polo has shaped her into a well-rounded equestrian. Her formal education includes a Bachelor of the Arts in Global and International Studies from the State University of New York at Oswego. Her current equine projects include working with her own Appaloosa and repurposing a retired Standardbred racehorse as a pleasure mount.

Paulina Gould: President and co-owner of Blue Poppy Farm Paso Fino Horse Rescue, Inc.

Although Paulina has always loved horses, she discovered she had a very special bond with the Paso Fino breed. When she saw the horrific situations that many of these particular horses endure, she felt it was monumentally important to help make a change. In the past, she has owned and ridden many different breeds, but the Paso Fino has uniquely touched her heart. Paulina identifies and oversees all rescues, interacts with the rescue community, handles shipping, quarantines and placements of the horses, works on all web and interactive media components of the Blue Poppy site as well as managing the farm with Nestor Gonzalez.

Matt Gould: Secretary and co-owner of Blue Poppy Farm Paso Fino Horse Rescue, Inc.

Matt happily helps manage the Blue Poppy Farm Horse Rescue from afar with his wife, Paulina. His affinity for horses is a somewhat newfound love – one he developed eight years ago when Paulina introduced him to his first horse, Crying the Blues. Since then, Paso Fino horses have also become particularly special in Matt’s (quite busy!) life as he juggles his time between Aiken, South Carolina and New York City.

Outside of the rescue, Matt is Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Georgetown Partners, the Managing General Partner of Gould Investors LP. Matt is also the former President and current Chairman of the Board of One Liberty Properties, Inc. (NYSE:OLP), a Senior Vice President and Trustee of BRT Realty Trust (NYSE:BRT), and Senior Vice President of Majestic Property Management Corp.In the past, he has also served as Senior Vice President of REIT Management corp (a real estate advisory firm), and a Board Member of Sportsvite, LLC d/b/a LeagueApps, the Bank of Great Neck, and the Alberston Soccer Club (where he also served as Treasurer for three years).
